Julia Kleinfeld specialises in therapeutic yoga for low back pain and stress relief. In addition to regular yoga classes, themed workshops, and private sessions, she also teaches laughter yoga which is a fun and effective practice to strengthen the immune system.
After practicing for almost 10 years, she initially studied yoga in India under the guidance of Yogacharya Lalit Kumar. In 2017 she returned to India to complete an advanced 500-hour yoga teacher training in which she deepened her on-going research into yoga and low back pain. Julia believes that every body is unique and has individual needs, and thus encourages the use of props and suggests individual modifications in her classes. In this way she gently facilitates her clients to challenge themselves and advance at their own pace, no matter where they are in their practice at an given time.
Julia is also a certified level 2 practitioner of Ayurvedic Yoga Massage. When she’s not teaching yoga or seeing private clients, you’ll probably find her taking a stroll on Dun Laoghaire pier.

In this Gentle Yoga class we move slowly – taking extra care of the low back, shoulders and neck. We mindfully explore movements that nourish us and release tension. While we use gentle strengthening movements to support a healthy spine, the main focus lies on relaxation. Recent research has shown that stress can lead to pain-causing inflammation in the connective tissue of the body. Breathing exercises (pranayama) and restorative poses throughout the class will help to calm the nervous system, relieve stress and reduce pain.
This class has been developed based on my research on low back pain, and hence is suitable for most people with injuries such as herniated / bulged discs as well as those seeking relaxation and stress relief. Please inform me of any injuries / medical conditions you may have before your first class.
