Individual Yoga Tuition & Therapy
As I continue to explore within my own practice and to study yoga alongside other body oriented practices, my understanding and experience of the close connection between body, mind and emotion is constantly being enriched.
In 1990 I established Clonlea Yoga Studio and began teaching. Since then I have been consistently teaching weekly group classes and individuals, as well as running workshops.
Individual tuition has been central to my practice. I have worked with clients from all walks of life for over 20 years.
An initial half-hour consultation is advised to discuss your interests and needs. Free.
The first official session lasts up to 1 hour 15 minutes and costs €85.
Subsequent sessions last up to 1 hour and cost €70.
Concessions are available down €55.
A practice is developed and personalised for you – respecting your need and current health, as well as taking into account your interests and life-style. I will guide you through the practice, making sure you are comfortable and confident to continue your practice on a regular basis at home.
Frequency of Sessions
Normally there is an agreement to meet for six sessions over a three month period. Three months will give you sufficient time to see the benefits. After three months, we reassess. If you choose to continue you usually come every four to six weeks, but this can vary according to your progress and how you relate to the practice.
The home practice can vary in length from 10 minutes to an hour, depending on how much time you have available. Normally, the practice is from about 25 to 45 minutes.
Who might benefit from individual tuition?
- People with specific problems, including stress, anxiety, depression, chronic back/neck pain, breathing difficulty.
- People who find it difficult to commit to a regular group class due to life circumstances, such as work hours, distance, etc.
- Yoga students wishing to develop their practice with support.
- Those who wish to explore what it means to positively influence their own well-being.
More About Hanne’s Approach & Training
Central to my approach is the relationship between posture and breath. The practice involves both the movement in and out of postures and the meditative quality of staying within a posture. Through the combination of dynamic and static postures, tension is released and in turn the breath freed.
I also emphasise developing an awareness of and respecting one’s own body. Key to the class is creating a supportive environment for each student and their individual capacity.
Yoga promotes health and mental wellbeing. It is a great way to stay limber and energetic. It can also support you to become more relaxed and focused; aware of your surroundings and your own body.
I initially trained for 12 years in the Viniyoga approach. Since 2005 I have continued my study of yoga with a group of senior teachers who meet and attend seminars and workshops with Peter Hersnack in France.
Alongside yoga I have trained in a variety of complimentary approaches, including Transpersonal Psychology and Body Mind Centering. In 2015, I completed a 3 year post qualification training in Somatic Experiencing (Trauma Healing).
I am a registered yoga teacher with Association for Yoga Studies (aYs) and British Wheel of Yoga (BWY).
